How much will it cost?

That all depends on how many services you choose. Some clients I only spend a few hours per month on, which could be $300 per month or less. Some clients I work on everyday. I will customize a plan for you. I can also work within a set budget- you let me know how much you are looking to spend, and I will work within those parameters. The most important thing is to help you gain control of your financials, and free up your time so you can focus on running your business.

My stuff is a mess, do I need to organize it before I come in?

Do not feel that you need to organize anything, or "clean up" before you come see me. That is often what causes a delay in people getting on top of their financials. I have seen it all, the classic shoe box full of receipts, to books and taxes that haven't been prepared in years. I want to help! That is actually my passion- taking the stress out of bookkeeping.

What made you get into this business?

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management but always had a passion for numbers. Thinking that I didn't want to crunch numbers all day (ha!), I took many accounting and financial planning courses, but remained a business management major as I loved small business. I soon realized that bookkeeping allowed me to work with numbers, which I love, and also with entrepreneurs and small business owners as well- it truly is the best of both worlds! One time a client told me that meeting with her bookkeeper was comparable to going to the dentist, ever since that day, I have been determined to make this aspect of business ownership less stressful, and maybe even a little fun! Lastly, I have seen so many business pay a lot of money to end up with a mess, and the more business owners I can help, the happier I will be.

Can I do some of my own work still?

Sure, I will gladly coordinate ways in which you can still pay your own bills, or invoice your own customers while we handle the heavy lifting.

Can I keep my Quickbooks on my computer?

Yes, for a small monthly fee I can store your Quickbooks file online so it can be accessed from your office and mine.

Can I use quickbooks online?

Yes, I prefer Quickbooks desktop, but will happily work with online if that is your preference!

Do I have to get information to you all of the time?

Most of my clients will provide us with information to access all of their accounts, so there is no need to worry about sending statements. I understand some clients do not feel comfortable sharing log ins, so in that instance, I would need to get access to statements, but I have many different ways to make that as painless as possible.

I don't have Quickbooks, will you provide it?

You would only need Quickbooks if you want to keep it on your computer. Otherwise, I will do the work on my computer and provide weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or yearly reports.

Do I also need an accountant?

I always recommend that clients have a good accountant. Even as a sole proprietor, I feel that it is important to have a second set of eyes on something so important. If you don't have one yet, I can recommend a few really wonderful ones right here on Cape Cod.

What if I don't live on the cape?

No problem! With email, video conferencing, and the cloud, that we can work with anyone, anywhere, anytime!

What if I use a different software that I love?

I have worked with many programs and am proficient with most software. If you are using a proprietary software, we will happily learn it and work with it (which I have done in the past for previous clients). If you are using Freshbooks or Xero (or anything else), and want to continue, I will make that work as well!
